My drop leaf!!!

Complete.

Between two weddings this weekend and our projects, I'm lucky to have a husband that has no problem picking up where I leave off.

It's  a long time coming but, we have officially begun working on the master bath. Just one of those things that we knew was going to be a large project and put off until we knew we had the time to devote to it. So, watch out for that. Happy Sunday.

Outfit of the day and new shoes.

I'm not really a "shoe person" but, a new pair every once in a while is so nice. Espesh, when they are a bargain. And, leopard.

A subtle leopard piece is really necessary in any closet as far as I'm concerned. Check out my new flats.

I can already tell I'm going to wear these out.

The whole outfit: Nanette Lepore top. Banana Republic belt. 7FAMK Roxanne skinny jeans. Ellen Tracy leopard flats.

My morning...

Being spent with an amazing cup of coffee.

And my new project. Outdoors. In my studio. What will I do when we actually paint the deck and I can no longer use it for my many paint/upholstery projects?

I am so excited to finish this.

Drop leaf table search

Holly from Life in the Fun Lane is a true inspiration to me! Her work is what has inspired me to start refinishing furniture for my own home. Her aesthetic is so fresh and clean and she is truly a genius when it comes to spotting potential pieces!

I was specifically inspired with her post about this drop leaf table.

I am currently on the hunt for my own.

I would really like to replace this little guy:

I would be great to have that extra space and would balance really well with that window. Now my only decision is whether I pain it white or red (to match my red dresser across the room)

Thoughts? Opinions?
Check out Holly's blog! I linked it above. She is sure to inspire you as well!

Things I'm loving: Navy Blue

I love navy in fashion and interior design. It's a timeless color that you really can't go wrong with that is really popping up a lot in the interior design wor. I personally don't have enough of it in my life.

Here are some navy things I am lusting over that might be inspiring to you.

Navy cabinets? Genius!
Confession: I have on multiple occasions been tempted to try this out in our current kitchen. hmmm.....

I adore this bedroom set-up. I have it filed away in my favorites to emulate one day.

Other ways to add Navy touches to your home:

These are on my immediate wish-list.

Things I'm loving: Cargo jackets

I go through phases obsessions pretty regularly in fashion and home design. I thought it would be fun to add a new section to my blog of things that I am loving at any given moment AND how I incorporate them into my everyday life.

The subject of the day: Military cargo jackets. I adore contrast and a cargo jacket is a great match for a flirty floral dress or skirt. Here are a few I am loving lately:

love the ruffle detailing on the back...

American Eagle Outfitters

A little runway action via

My jacket I picked up at the JCrew outlet. :)

Can't wait to pair this up with a floral dress and will make sure I post a pic or too when I do. ;)

Bedroom Re-design

I have been dying to re-do our bedroom for so long! I was really
just waiting for a few things to come together (the bench from last week, a dresser to paint red and the finding the right red paint color)

If you were in Austin this weekend, then you know the weather was JUST right for an outdoor project. And, that is exactly where I spent my time from the time I woke up yesterday until just now...

My before shot is pretty dull which I guess really describes the room before...

And the final project!

Painted the bed and nightstand white and added new pinstripe sheets {target} to add a masculine touch...

Added some life to the room with a pair of orchids...

And, last but not least: My red dresser! It isn't styled just yet. I just set random stuff on top...

Unfortunately, the sun had pretty much gone down by the time I was able to take photos so you can't see the true color of the dresser but, I was just so anxious to post the final project! I will add more when I style it a bit better!

I hope you are having an amazing Valentines day! <3

Restoration: Hit the bench

For months I have been on the hunt for the perfect herringbone fabric to refinish this bench in. On Saturday the hubs and I spent the day leisurely looking for the few things that are on our list for around the house. Didn't expect to find much, and of course, we found everything we were looking for!

The start:

The upholstery tools my sweet MIL got me for Christmas:

The final product:

This is going to make it's home at the end of our bed. Pics of that to come as we are doing a bedroom re-design.
